Catching up with Kellie Brummerstedt

My art practice continues to change and grow as I get older and develop new insights. With being a professional Dancer and teaching in the Hampton Roads area in Virginia, I am constantly around others who value the performing arts so it makes it easy to stay inspired and create. I am also finding how to integrate my art through other media as well. I am a photographer and have found my niche with dance and production photography. It has been so rewarding and sparks my creativity to see both passions come together. My art practice continues to include always being a student. I take class weekly and always stay curious about how my body works in and out of the studio. I allow myself time to just move for myself without judgment and that usually leads to me choreographing movements that are genuine and feel good on my body. I am thankful that I have been able to find a wonderful dance community here which is not always an easy task as a military spouse but I am grateful and proud to say my art is a part of my daily life.
